Because, like Gandhi, he is a chosen son of God. Because even a hundred years later, when we talk of greatest Indians ever, Sachin Tendulkar will always feature in such lists. Because there is no cricketing glory left to be conquered by him, because India worships the earth he walks on. Because when we speak of one little man inspiring the whole country in the modern context, we're speaking of Sachin, and not Gandhi. Because cricket is a religion in free India, just like satyagraha was in British India, because of Sachin Tendulkar.
