Patna, June 25 (IANS) Bihar is changing, and its youth no longer look up to ‘Bahubalis’ (muscle-men) as their role models, says Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
Instead, the young admire people with clean records and those who have contributed positively to the society, the chief minister said on his blog.

The veteran politician said he had observed the changes during his ‘Vishwas Yatras’ ahead of the October assembly elections. “I observed a new awakening among the youth of the state,” he said.

The Vishwas Yatra is a series of meetings the chief minister is holding in the interiors of the state to review development programmes.

Describing this “awakening” as positive for Bihar, he said it would augur well for the state’s development.

“I strongly feel that the positive change would usher in a new social order, which would not accept mediocrity and unproductiveness in social, political and administrative fields,” Nitish Kumar said.

The youth have started building a new benchmark for people’s representatives and policymakers. “I strongly view it as the seeds of a long-term change.”

All this, he said, was the outcome of the high growth rate and development achieved in the state in recent years.
