Noida, Apr 18: Sector 12 Government Junior Middle School in Noida has become more than an educational institution. It has been said that school has been turned into a bar by anti-social elements where they enjoy drinks in the classrooms in the evenings.

Buzz up!Teachers at the school complained about being beaten up by rowdies who have made the classrooms their favorite haunt.

"One Saturday evening I saw some local youths drinking liquor in one of the classrooms. I objected to it and told them to leave the school. This made them furious and they assaulted me. I had to lodge a police complaint," said Shivalak Raj, a teacher at the school.

Echoing Raj's statement, another teacher, Varun Kumar Chaudhary said that he was assaulted when he objected to the activities going on the classroom.

"The boys attacked me when I went to help Raj," Chaudhary said.

The students too complained about the calssroom being turned into a bar by some anti-social elements.

School Principal Chhote Lal Sharma said that despite his repeated complains the activities are still carried out in the miscreants.

"Several times in the past given I have complaint about anti-social elements roaming on school campus in the evenings and the watchman's inability to check them."

"The school gate is broken for over six months and the boundary wall at the back is also damaged. There is no check on entry of outsiders into the school premises," he added.

Meanwhile, District Magistrate Deepak Aggarwal has ordered an inquiry and issued directions to check if such incidents are taking at other schools in the district.
