MEDIA TRIAL /OUR GENERAL PERCEPTIONS AND A REALITIES ABOUT TODAYS YOUTH.

Today Aditi's trainee journalist friend Somya called me up to take an opinion about TV programmes on youth on Bindaas channel....which are trying to correct the misconception about today's youth but actually what they are showing(WHAT I AM...this campaign says (I AM BINDAAS THAT DOESN'T MEAN I AM INTO DRUGS, I AM BINDAAS THAT DOESN'T MEAN I DO NOT BELIEVE IN GOD, I AM BINDAAS THAT DOESN'T MEAN I AM AVAILABLE....etc....etc) movies like 'jane tu na jane na',raang de basaanti,3 idiots,gajjani....and many mores are recent filmi reflections of our youth.)...is worth an effort?.....interesting topic...definitly Rahul ka swayember,Roadies and few other realities shows...the way they are potraying today's youth...it can be one dimension of a young personalities of this fun loving adventurous generation....potrayed in several recent movies and has these traits in old movies/serials as well....so as in real lives...the difference is todays kids has more media exposure and bombardment of all kind of knowledge through digital sources....but not most of them are like this...so rude all the time as shown in Roadies...though i was told that in its 3rd edition scence is better...and they are not that rude and neither speak that bad language as it was earlier..... Its not just a media trial....even individuals has misconception about young generations...as neither most of them are bigaada hua...criminals,terrorists,naxalites....but a thorough careerist who wants to achieve...name,fame,money,post...even in NGO sector and reach to the top....and can do that with their professional qualifications,in born talents,multidimensional...all rounder qualities....and still like to have fun/masti....adventure....travelling.... definitly...globalization and means of communications....changed the way we used to think...now we do open up and discuss all the problems of life and certainly all the News/issues/topics sitting together ...but still as 70% of our population lives in small towns and villages...and big cities has migrated populations....that imprint of Indian values and Indianness are still there on them....!!!But then it do have negative impacts(regressiveness as well as mordernity do need a laxman rekha....but then its important to understand how you define it????....As it is a mindset and may be idealogies as Mordernity is not just wearing jeans or speaking in engish, eating out....neither doing puja path is regressive) I had defined (my views)it while 'for example describing Aditi in chinuaditi.blogspot.com,her good qualities' how todays YOUTH are seeing the world...(its good not to be ideology driven, and work on the basis of facts of our life)!!!.......So its tough to be judgemental and say outrightly...he/she is right or wrong one....and here comes importance and emphasis of right guidence, reformist attitude of self(as serious or non serious persons always existed)...(and an obedient movement by youth now....with an attitude of excel and help others to excel(quite difficult in a competitive world)....as told by an expert in a panel discussion I attended recently)!!

But definitly I feel todays youth need to know our own culture, art, music,history,literature,traditions,... etc...as much,as they know about other countries facts...in the name of Modernity...!!! I have heard Mr Pawan Verma's comment in the context of his book 'becoming indian'....he was saying yesterday on tv(27/2/10)...i have nothing against valintines day...but i asked few youth about indian love lores...who has written 'geet-govind'?,'kamsutra'?, have you heard about 'laila-majnu'?...'heer-ranjha'? 'raas-leela'...etc...i shocked to see no one answered..he said"....'same thing happened when i went for a seminar where b-school students were attending it....and shocked to see when no one replied what is guru diksha is??....anyway I am not an intellectual or has big qualifications...neither I have written books and all...but can say proudly that I knew these answers...so I think I have right to suggest or tell today's youth that they need to know about it.

About kids of our family....I don't think they need too much grooming...they're mature...but definitly, person learns through out life...from good or bad experiences and age...!!

About media, I can only say....in last few years, they really exposed many SCAMS and SCANDALS...rots of our system and society....about AAM or KHAAS... people...good wishes to media...I wish they become more and more balanced...a show things without trivilizing issues..
